Shaders

Enhance Minecraft's graphics with shader packs.

Shader packs transform Minecraft's visuals with realistic lighting, shadows, water reflections, and atmospheric effects. Powered by Iris (Fabric) or OptiFine (Forge).

Shaders require Iris or OptiFine to be installed! Install the appropriate mod loader first, then add your shader pack.

Shaders Manager (Installed)

Manage shader packs with automatic compatibility detection and performance profiling.

Iris/OptiFine Detection Kable automatically detects which shader mod is installed and shows compatible shaders. Warns if neither Iris nor OptiFine is present.
Shader Information View shader name, version, author, description, and performance profile (High/Medium/Low impact).
Performance Profiling Kable estimates FPS impact based on shader features. High-end shaders marked with warning for low-spec systems.
Shader Configuration Access Quick links to shader settings files for advanced tweaking. Edit directly or use in-game shader settings.
Per-Installation & Global Modes Install to specific installation or make globally available. Great for testing shaders across different Minecraft versions.
Shader Preview Screenshots Visual previews show lighting, water, and atmosphere effects so you know what to expect before enabling.

Start with lightweight shaders like Sildur's Enhanced Default or BSL if you have a mid-range GPU. SEUS PTGI is gorgeous but requires high-end hardware!

Shader Browser

Browse popular shader packs from Modrinth with filtering by performance impact and visual style.

Performance LevelDescriptionPopular Shaders
Low ImpactSubtle improvements, 60+ FPS on most systemsVanilla Plus, Sildur's Enhanced Default
Medium ImpactBalanced visuals and performance, 40-60 FPSBSL, Complementary, MakeUp Ultra Fast
High ImpactStunning graphics, requires powerful GPU (30-60 FPS)Complementary Reimagined, Continuum
Ultra ImpactPhotorealistic, ray-traced (RTX/high-end GPU needed)SEUS PTGI, Continuum RT

Shader performance varies by scene complexity! Dense forests and underwater areas are more demanding than plains or deserts.
